Custom rigid boxes
Wrapped greyboard, hand-assembled — premium, and a longer lead time
When the box is part of the product experience — gifting, cosmetics, electronics and premium retail.
When another style suits you better
- Consider Mono cartons if unit cost and lead time matter more than feel.
The dieline
How this box is cut and folded
A rigid box is not folded from one blank. The greyboard tray is made first, then the printed wrap shown here is applied by hand — which is why the lead time is different.

Lead time
Rigid boxes are wrapped and assembled by hand, so they take substantially longer than folding cartons. Plan for it at the quoting stage rather than the delivery stage.

Hold one before you order
A structural mock-up is cut and creased in the actual production board, on your actual dieline. You can check that your product fits, how rigid the board is and how the box opens — before anything is printed.
Tell us the product and the rough dimensions and we will confirm what we can make and what it costs.

Questions about rigid boxes
Anything not answered here, ask us directly — we would rather talk it through than have you guess.
Because they are not folded from one printed blank. A greyboard tray is cut and assembled first, then a separately printed wrap is applied over it by hand. That is two production paths and a manual finishing stage, so the lead time is substantially longer. Plan for it at the quoting stage rather than the delivery stage.
Lid and base (two-piece), magnetic closure, drawer or slide, and book style. The closure changes both the board usage and the assembly time.
Yes — the wrap is offset printed before mounting, so it takes the full finishing range: hot foil, embossing, soft-touch lamination and spot UV.
When the box is part of the product experience — gifting, cosmetics, electronics, premium retail — yes. When unit cost and lead time matter more than feel, a mono carton with good finishing gets most of the way there for far less.
No. Rigid boxes are assembled and ship made-up, so they take considerably more transport and storage space than a folding carton. It affects freight cost on large orders.
